  • Yes. All JM Chem CHEM 215 content is built specifically around the University of Michigan CHEM 215 course, including pacing, topic emphasis, and exam style. The material is designed to supplement your lectures, discussion sections, and exams – not a generic organic chemistry curriculum.

  • Each exam pack covers all topics listed on the CHEM 215 syllabus for that exam, with extra emphasis on our own problem-solving strategies and tips, commonly tested reactions and mechanisms, and conceptual pitfalls.

  • Each exam pack includes a curated set of videos covering all major topics tested on that exam. Exam 1 has 14 videos, Exam 2 has 18 videos, and Exam 3 has 12 videos. The bundle will get you access to all content from all three exams.

  • No. JM Chem is designed to supplement lecture, not replace it. These videos are best used to clarify confusing topics, reinforce concepts after class, or review efficiently before exams.

  • It depends on the topic! Our shortest video is about 3 minutes and our longest video hovers near 25 minutes. The average is about 10-15 minutes. The goal is to explain one concept clearly at a time so you can quickly target what you’re confused about.

  • You’ll have access for the duration of the semester, including finals. You can watch videos as many times as you’d like during that period.

  • Yes. Access is granted immediately after purchase, so you can start watching videos right away.

  • The current CHEM 215 curriculum includes some post-Exam 3 material (such as radical chemistry) that was not part of the course when we took it. Because of this, we don’t currently offer videos on those topics. If this material becomes a larger part of the course – or if there’s strong interest – we’re open to expanding the final exam content in the future.

  • This resource is best for students who:

    • Want clearer explanations of CHEM 215 material

    • Feel overwhelmed by lecture or textbook explanations

    • Are studying for exams and want targeted review

    • Learn best from concise, structured explanations

    You don’t need to be “behind” or “ahead” to benefit.

  • Each exam pack comes with topic videos and corresponding skeleton note guides. Currently no practice problems are included, but we work through many example problems in these videos.

  • JM Chem content is built specifically for CHEM 215 at UMich, not for a general organic chemistry audience. Videos are aligned to your syllabus, exams, and common trouble spots in this course—something general platforms can’t offer.

  • Absolutely, and we recommend it – but this resource does not replace lecture material in any way. It is meant to be used as a helpful supplement.
